About the CHARITY BURPEE CHALLENGE

Together with SORTS Training, we’re challenging you to a fun team burpee workout, to help raise much need funds and awareness to break the stigma associated with mental health, particularly with youth.

Our goal is to complete over 100,000 burpees in 12 hours, and raise over $20,000 to help promote wellness and positive living for young people which is facilitated through supportive programs and initiatives by LIVIN.

Whether you’re keen to participate, or be part of the support crew, mark your diaries for Saturday May 11. The day will kick off with a big brekkie, but there will be plenty of reasons to hang around at the Basecamp all day to show your support. There will be prizes, a DJ all day and a jumping castle for the kids, plus a refuelling station thanks to True Protein so get involved in what will be a fantastic, fun and worthwhile event!

How the challenge works...

A whole challenge dedicated to doing burpees? Crazy right? Don’t worry – this is a team effort so whilst there’s a lot of burpees to get through, there will be rest time in each hour while your team mates share the load.

Teams are made up of either 3 or 4 people depending on the Challenge Level. In each hour, every minute on the minute (EMOM) participants are required to complete a number of burpees. They will then have the opportunity to rest and watch their team mates complete theirs, until the next hour begins.

Check out the levels below – whilst the black and blue categories require 12 hour participation, the Green Category offers a lot more flexibility, where you can simply participate for a few hours, get friends to jump in and help out to give you a rest, or give you more time during the hour to complete them rather than 15 mins.

So basically there is no reason not to join!

Choose your level

GREEN (4 team members)

EMOM: 10 burpees x 15 rounds each (15 minutes) followed by 45min rest while other three team members go (Burpee Target: 1800 each)
Flexibility options in this category - get your friends to sub in, do some burpees, or take a bit longer than 15 mins.

BLUE (3 team members)

EMOM: 10 Burpees x 20 rounds each (20 minutes) followed by 40min rest while other two team members go (Burpee Target: 2400 each)

BLACK (3 team members)

EMOM: 12-13 Burpees x 20 rounds each (20 minutes) followed by 40min rest while other two team members go (Burpee Target: 3000 each).

Absolutely! Come along and do 1 hr, 2 , 3 or more, it’s up to you and your team – however there is no discount on the entry fee – remember this is all for charity and raising awareness for mental health.

You can also come along as a supporter and help out others. Drop $10 in the donation jar on the day and jump in and do some burpees for another team.

Absolutely! But they will need to pay a ‘donation’ fee and sign a waiver prior to participating – we feel $10 per hour they jump in on is fair – again, this is for charity!

YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO 12 HOURS!!

This is meant to be a fun event to raise money for charity, so whilst there will be teams that will be more competitive, it is a team event, so you will be able to rest. The Green Challenge Level is the entry level which allows family and friends to sub in and complete burpees along the way, so encourage your friends to come along and help out!

While we will have some snacks and water available on the day we strongly recommend participants also bring their own food and electrolytes. We recommend you bring food you have used in other endurance events, or food you would eat on a hike.

You will need clothing appropriate to exercises in, we also recommend gloves and knee sleeves if you have them. Also remember it’s a long day so bring clothing for warm/cool weather, a water bottle or reusable cup; snacks, food and electrolyte drinks, even a camping chair to use when it’s your rest time.
