Our current group on the 10 week TrekFit fitness program took a day trip out of Sydney last Saturday and enjoyed a 5 hour walk from Cowan to Brooklyn.  A great day was had by all, culminating with a good old fashioned pub lunch and schooner at the Brooklyn Pub. Cheers!  A big thank you to Ian McCulloch for the following photo’s.The group is made up of trekkers about to embark on a variety of trips including Everest Base Camp and the North Annapurna 50th Anniversary trek.  Meeting for weekly Saturday morning walks within the beautiful local National Parks since January, the group has utilised the equipment they will be taking with them.  The perfect way to wear in and get used to their packs, boots & poles.  Everyone has benefited greatly from the stabilization and flexibility training that will stand them in good stead for the rigours of multi day walking across broken terrain and unstable surfaces.
Along the way some great friendships have been struck and there has even been talk about a reunion when all the trekkers return home from their various destinations – another pub lunch perhaps!
