Congratulations Tan Huynh!

On the 14th June 2008 one of our clients, Tan Huynh, completed the arduous Gobi Desert Race, a 250km race over 7 days through some of the world’s most inhospitable territory! Not only did he complete it but he finished 64th out of a field of 147 that finished and 173 who started.
Tan is not some super hero. Before April of this year he had not run more than 10km. Tan had a goal and was absolutely committed to seeing it through. He used this race to raise over $10,000 and awareness for the plight of Vietnamese street kids, through the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation.
He also used it to change and to challenge himself and prove that he could do anything he could set his mind to.
Tan’s training consisted of specific gym-based training, endurance, long intervals and positive psychology techniques. Training locations were George Street Platinum Fitness First, The Northern Beaches (Manly to Spit got a lot of coverage), City based runs and the Blue Mountains. We were lucky enough to secure some specialist gear sponsorship from Berghaus, who supplied the lightweight durable equipment he needed.
It has been a huge inspiration and pleasure to have trained Tan for this event. Here’s to the next great challenge!
