Opportunity to Trek to Everest Base Camp with Sir Chris Bonington

This is not just a trek to one of the most famous trekking destinations in the world, this is a rare and exciting opportunity to Trek to Everest Base Camp along side my dad, Everest veteran Sir Chris Bonington, one of the worlds leading mountaineers.
Book Cover of Sir Chris Bonington's Everest
Chris led the 1975 Everest Expedition which conquered the South West Face (Everests hardest face), a feat that has only been attempted three times since. Over 15 years he was involved in 4 Everest Expeditions, leading 3 of them. He was the oldest person to stand on Everest in 1985 when he finally reached the summit himself.
We are currently taking expressions of interest for this trek, which I will be leading in April 2009. At present we are looking at a 20 day round trip, with 15 days actual trekking. We are exploring the possibility of including Gokyo lakes within the trek, which will take us a little more off the beaten track into wilder country and give us spectacular views of Everest and surrounding peaks.
As our guest, my dad, Chris will be delighted to share his memories and experiences of the Himalaya and Everest itself. If you haven’t picked Chris’s brains enough on the trek we will also be holding a private lecture and dinner for the group in Khatmandu. This for him is a nostalgic trip. He has not been back to Base Camp in over 20 years. If you are interested in joining us for this once in a lifetime expedition let us know by email.

To get fit for this trek…

To get you fit for your adventures we are launching the revamped TrekFit – Trekking and Altitude Training program, a fantastic 12 week program based in and around some of Sydney’s beautiful National Parks and Beaches that will get you fit for your trek or adventure holiday.
